Inspired by Project Drawdown, the global plan designed by scientist Paul Hawken, the series presents a set of measurable and scalable strategies to reduce carbon emissions and regenerate the planet. These solutions, already implemented with tangible impact, form the core of Javier’s journey. Throughout the six episodes, he uses an emissions simulator to quantify the impact of each strategy and outline the steps necessary to achieve our goals in time.
Guiding each episode are the voices of renowned experts and global activists such as Jane Goodall, Christiana Figueres, and Fernando Valladares. The first episode, The Great Opportunity, presents the climate crisis not only as a threat but also as a chance to regenerate the planet. The Power of Two Words highlights how imagination is essential in reinventing our cities and agriculture.
Metamorphosis focuses on regenerative economics and how innovative projects are reshaping our relationship with the world. The Invisible uncovers emissions and climate challenges we don’t see, offering practical solutions. The Great Transformation makes the transition to a 100% renewable future feel within reach. Finally, The Secret Ingredient emphasizes the importance of eliminating gender inequality and empowering Indigenous communities as essential aspects of the fight against climate change.
The central theme is active hope and regeneration—actions that reshape agriculture, reinvent energy, and restore degraded lands and oceans. The solutions to the crisis not only prevent disaster but also foster abundance, justice, and resilience. The human stories behind each solution form the heart of this journey, a tribute to humanity’s potential to restore Earth’s balance. The time is now.

« "I wanted to make a film that shows how commitment stems more from an emotional impulse than from a speech. Les Pépites is, above all, the story of a couple who devote themselves to saving children. It's also the story of the children they took under their wing. It's not a report. I'm simply telling a story using a sensory language, and each viewer draws their own reflection from it," says the director.
Today, they are 25 years old and are either finishing their studies or starting to work. As children, all of them had to scavenge to survive in the open-air landfill of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was there, over twenty years ago, that Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, a recently retired French couple, met them. They then made the unwavering decision to fight to lift these children out of that hell. To date, they have helped 12,000 children gain access to education, giving them the means to build a future.
=ABOUT POUR UN SOURIRE D’ENFANT (PSE)
Founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières in 1993, The association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) is non-political and non-religious. It is driven by two main goals: to lift children out of poverty and to help them enter the professional world through vocational training that ensures them a stable future.
To achieve this, more than 600 Cambodian staff members, several thousand sponsors (regular donors), and over 300 volunteers in France and other countries are mobilized around six core programs: feeding, healthcare, protection, education/schooling, vocational training, and family support.
Today, the association supports over 6,500 children each year. Recognized by Cambodian authorities, PSE is also a registered charitable organization and a recipient of the French Republic’s Human Rights Prize.
Told with great success by Xavier de Lauzanne in his film Les Pépites, PSE has, over the past 25 years, helped save more than 12,000 Cambodian children from dire living conditions.
